CNC VERTICAL Lathe

Classic CNC Vertical Turning Lathes

Our CNC vertical lathe is specifically designed for special processing needs requiring high precision rather than mass production. This large, heavy-duty machine tool features a vertical spindle and a rotating table, with the workpiece also in a vertical position during machining, supported and driven to rotate by the rotating table. The X-axis is driven by precision slides to control the horizontal movement of the cutting tool for precise turning operations.

This type of lathe is commonly used for machining medium to large parts, especially those requiring heavy cutting, such as applications in aerospace, energy, heavy machinery, transportation, mold manufacturing, and the marine industry. When machining heavy, large parts, the CNC vertical lathe offers high stability, strong cutting tool force, and evenly distributed clamping force, greatly enhancing machining efficiency and part quality.

The vertical table design utilizes gravity to simplify workpiece positioning and clamping, reducing the possibility of deformation and improving machining accuracy and efficiency. However, this structure is not suitable for high-volume production processes. For single-piece production or small batch production of complex parts, the CNC vertical lathe is an ideal choice.

Main Features

  1. The machine features a single-column vertical guide rail structure. The column, base, and sliding seat are made of high-grade cast iron with resin sand casting process and are age-treated; the guide rail surface uses 55, 45 roller linear guide rails with high bearing capacity and good precision stability. Reasonable structural design and perfect machining and assembly processes ensure the long-term stability and accuracy of the machine.
  2. The machine’s spindle is driven by a large area, high torque servo motor, suitable for low-speed, high-torque, heavy cutting, or high-speed cutting, meeting both roughing and finishing needs.

CNC vertical lathes offer several advantages:

  • Capability to Turn Large Workpieces: Due to their vertical orientation, these lathes have the ability to process workpieces with large diameters.
  • Space Saving: Also, because of the vertical design, vertical lathes have a smaller footprint compared to horizontal lathes, saving valuable floor space.
  • Precision Machining: These lathes combine high productivity with unparalleled rigidity, achieving precision machining.
  • Specific Processing Needs: They are particularly suitable for tasks requiring machining of large and medium-sized parts and heavy cutting.
  • Ease of Workpiece Installation: With the aid of gravity, workpiece installation becomes easier to secure, requiring minimal clamping force.
  • More Efficient for Short Runs: Although not suited for mass production, they excel in short-run, heavy-duty machining tasks.
